Brief History of DNS

1983: DNS was created by Paul Mockapetris to simplify navigating the growing internet.


1985: The first domain ever registered was symbolics.com, marking the beginning of the domain registration era.


1990s: Domain names gained commercial value as the internet expanded, leading to the rise of domain registrars and the dot-com boom.


Today: DNS supports millions of domains globally, powering nearly every online service.
